The University of Bolton is unique among universities in Greater Manchester. It attracts students from different walks of life including industries under the apprenticeship, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Students like Mr Michael Opoku-Boateng enrol in Electrical and Electronic Engineering following previous success stories.
Michael said, “I am currently a final year undergraduate student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. My university experience has been quite interesting. I first heard of the university online. I also looked at the rate at which the graduates find a job once they finished their studies here.
"When it comes to the staff, they are always ready to help; their responses and feedback are quick and efficient. Staff are very good at breaking the information down. Lecturers are constantly there to help us improve, putting revision classes in place during the exam period. The facilities used within the engineering building are state-of-the-art, which makes the learning process easy and enjoyable.
"The industrial visit to Viridor Power Plant during the course this year was helpful to understand the course and the career path I am getting into, whether power, electronics, renewable energy or any of the other various fields. There is a really good social life in place, different activities for everyone; I have an interest in football mostly. It was a great way to free my mind when not busy with assignments.
"I would recommend the University of Bolton as a place of study."
Dr Kelvin Anoh
Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
