Course information

This area of sports science is not just about rehabilitating injured people, it is about learning the fundamental aspects of prevention, diagnosis and treatment, as well as long-term rehabilitation.

You will build a strong foundation of sports science theory and then combine this with practical learning and assessment to ensure you can put your knowledge into practice in real-world scenarios. We believe this combination of classroom, practical and laboratory teaching provides you with the best possible start for your future careers in therapy and rehabilitation.

Students at the University of Bolton will study modules including anatomy and musculoskeletal injury, clinical treatment, performance coaching and the use of exercise for prevention, rehabilitation and training.

Students will have the chance to work with leading sports science experts, industry leaders and professional sports teams on external placements, as well as undertake a range of additional qualifications including first aid.

You will be studying the BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation degree in our £31 million Bolton One building which houses some of the latest in sports science technology, including hydrotherapy rooms, exercise equipment and strength and conditioning suites.

Future prospects

Graduates of the BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation degree will have the skills needed to apply for sports science, therapy, coaching and performance-based roles in any number of industries. These include sports clubs, health clubs, sports injury clinics and any other health organisation that works with injured people.

With accreditation to the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers, industry placement experience and other qualifications achieved during your course, you will have enough to build an impressive CV.

Some graduates choose to continue their academic work, specialising in a particular area of sports science or moving to a master’s course.
