Graduate Success - Anthony Gough

Since graduating with first class honours from the BA (Hons) Performing Arts programme in 2015, Anthony Gough, has been on a journey that has led to him setting up his own company.

Engage2Stage is a theatre and performance company for people with visual impairments and their friends based at Bury Met Theatre.

The company was recently nominated for an RNIB award in the business/organisation category. Anthony and his company were supported by Extant, one of the leading companies in the UK pioneering theatre practice with the express inclusion of visually impaired performers and audiences.

Anthony was one of ten artists chosen to take part in the Extant Pathways training programme which supports visually impaired theatre-makers with monthly workshops, mentoring sessions, and individualised support for participants.

As part of Pathways, Anthony was able to showcase his talent as a performer for a showcase event at RADA studios.

This year Anthony visited current students on the Theatre and Performance programme to share his success story and teach them about accessible and sensory theatre.
