For the first time ever, we have reached a milestone in the UK, with more than one million women working in core Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) roles. However, our work is not done and there’s still a lot more we can do to close the gender gap in engineering.
This is why it’s so important to retrain the female workforce and promote women in construction and related sectors. Our MSc Civil Engineering course provides inclusive learning for all, with a career-orientated structure to support student transition into the workplace.
Here are some reasons why our course is fantastic for female and male students alike!
With small class sizes, we can ensure that students get the attention and support they require during their studies. One-to-one mentorship means course leaders get to know you, and your career goals, allowing them to tailor the programme for your personal and professional development needs.
It’s our aim to make education as accessible as possible, and our positive and friendly learning environment ensures that everyone gets the same opportunities to excel. We know our students by name, and not their student number, and our student services team has been given the Customer Service Excellence Award for their outstanding student support.
Some of our students start off full-time on our course, but when employers show an interest in them we can transfer them to a part-time programme to fit in with work commitments. Our course is flexible to suit your needs, allowing you to earn your degree while retraining and advancing your career.
At the University of Bolton, we support women in civil engineering and women in construction, and our MSc Civil Engineering programme is an inclusive platform for a range of professions. To find out more, visit the course page.
We are the 2nd Most Socially Inclusive University in the UK in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide in 2021. As well as promoting inclusivity, we also rank in the Top 50 UK Universities in The Guardian University League Tables 2021.
