Leading experts took centre stage at the seventh EY and Centre for Islamic Finance Symposium, held at the university’s Institute of Management (IoM). Distinguished guests shed light on financial implications facing the world today prompting great discussions and food for thought for the captivated audience of students, professionals and business owners.
Bob Wood, Professor of Business Technology at the IoM and Emeritus Professor at the Alliance Manchester Business School and the University of Manchester, reviewed Lehman Brothers and the bankruptcy impact shaking the global economy. Professor Peter Kawalek, Professor of Strategy and Information Systems at Manchester Business School, provided a discussion on a talk entitled ‘Leadership Now: An Open Discussion of Alternative Perspectives’. An in-conversation session with Mr Ken Eglinton, a Partner at Ernst Young also identified further pressing issues affecting the financial world.
