Institute of management (IOM) students appoint student representatives

The Accountancy team is pleased to announce that two of their accountancy undergraduate students have been successful in their applications to become student representatives for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK. Zoe Chadwick (year 1) and Abiy Haile (year 2) accountancy students had to undergo a rigorous application and interview process to be appointed ACCA student representatives and will travel to London to the ACCA offices to undergo their induction training during December 2018. Dr Stuart Marsh (Accountancy programme leader) said “Many congratulations to both Zoe and Abiy, this is an outstanding achievement considering that there were only 20 positions available in the whole of the UK they have done exceptionally well. When we consider that the roles were available to the thousands of accountancy undergraduates at every university in the UK, this not only goes to show how well respected the Accountancy programme here at the University of Bolton is but also the high quality of our students and this is evident with the University of Bolton accountancy students now holding 10% of the national ACCA student representative roles”. Dr Carl Bridge (Head of Accounting and IoM Lead) added “This is excellent news and is a testament to the quality of students the accountancy courses at Bolton are producing”
