Welcome To #UniAsItShouldBe
Our dedication to students’ wellbeing doesn’t stop there. In May, during Mental Health Awareness Week, the university welcomed Dr Khurram Sadiq, a top speaker within the industry. He shared his extensive experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist and expressed his concerns about social media, screen time and its impact on young adults and children. Dr Sadiq’s talk was one of the many events that Mark Ayling, the University of Bolton’s mental health advisor and Jo Morgan, disability team member, organised as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. Other events consisted of: a wellbeing market, stress coping workshops, managing low mood workshops and careers talks. The collection of events helped build awareness surrounding mental wellbeing across the institution. Mark referenced the university’s plans regarding mental health and wellbeing, “We want to continue to promote mental wellbeing and develop awareness for both students and staff”.

Due to our sheer commitment to putting our student’s wellbeing first and providing a positive student experience, we have been placed within the top five in the UK for student satisfaction by the Complete University Guide 2020. We have also been recognised as the number one university in the North West for student satisfaction by the same awarding body, for two years in a row. Receiving these accolades have made us hugely proud, and we look forward to maintaining our position in the coming years.
