Field trip to Port Sunlight

Students from the ‘BA Community Development and Youth Work’  and ‘MA Community Development and Youth Studies’ programmes will be embarking upon a field trip to Port Sunlight on 9th December 2019. The field based learning will examine the planned community founded by ‘Soap King’ William Hesketh Lever in 1888. The village was built to house Lever’s ‘Sunlight Soap’ factory workers, but today is home to a fascinating museum, beautiful architecture, a world-class art gallery, stunning parkland and a thriving community. Students will be able to utilise this trip to enhance their learning across a number of the modules they study and apart from anything else it will be a nice day out for students to get to know each other a little more.
