Brian Klaveness joined the University of Bolton in September 2018 as a lecturer in electrical and electronic engineering.
He has over 30 years’ experience in academia and was a Programme Leader and a Principal Lecturer at Wrexham Glyndwr University for 29 years where he specialised in analogue and digital electronics, radio frequency engineering and instrumentation and control. He taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervised MSc dissertations. He has taught in Africa, Malaysia (STRAND) and Bauman University in Moscow.
He gained his MSc in Industrial Control Systems from the University of Salford and his undergraduate degree from the Open University.
He was an External Examiner for 6 years at the University of Salford supervising undergraduate and postgraduate courses in electronics and acoustics.
Brian has 17 years’ of industrial experience working as an Electronics Design Engineer where he worked on projects including stereo sound, fibre optics and vision compression systems.
Brian is currently a member of the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
