Dr Nadhim Al-Talib

Academic Operations Lead for Psychology

Dr Nadhim Al-Talib has been a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and Psychology at the University of Bolton since 1994. He is the Academic Operations Lead for Psychology. His early career was in research where he joined the National Centre for Social and Criminological Research in Baghdad between 1980 and 1986 as a scientific researcher and as head of the Deviant Behaviour Research Unit. 

Nadhim is a registered Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is also a certified European test user in the area of work and organisational assessment.

Nadhim completed his PhD in Psychology at Birmingham University, his MA in Educational Psychology at Baghdad University, his undergraduate studies BA in Educational Statistics at Al-Mustansiriyah University, and his PGCE teaching training in Further, Adult, and Higher Education at Wolverhampton University.

Nadhim’s teaching interests include personality theory, psychological assessment, occupational psychology and research methods in psychology. His primary research interests are concerned with the application of psychological theory and methods to the study of behaviour, particularly in the areas of self-concept and delinquency. He is also interested in research topics related to personality, education, deviant behaviour, and psychological assessment.
