Academic Co-ordinator - Student Recruitment and Retention

A Geotechnical Engineer by background with 23 years as a Senior Lecturer, Programme Leader and Academic Coordinator across the School of Engineering, and with 21 years in Civil Engineering Contracting, Geotechnical and Environmental Consultancy.

Has led developments in Civil Engineering at the University of Bolton for a number of years and Chaired the national organisation ACED (Association of Civil Engineering Departments) in 2018/19 as well as being Chair of the ICE Manchester Branch in 2018/19. From 2018 became Secretary of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) North West and am also a member of the North West Geotechnical Group (NWGG) Committee of ICE and strong advocate of modern communications technology being used in civil engineering, with a strong presence on Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

Worked on numerous construction sites, residential developments, open-cast coal sites, advanced road construction, rehabilitation of old buildings, schools, retail, tall buildings (58-storeys), sports stadia, gas power plants and heavy civil engineering earthworks projects.

Adapted the curriculum for more than 20 years to meet the needs of industry and presently interested in Innovative Technology, Geotechnics, Foundation Engineering, Slope Stability, Retaining Walls, Highway Engineering and Ground Investigation.
