My nursing career began over 20 years ago as a health care support worker. Over many years I developed a thirst for knowledge and developing skills to enhance learning around patient care. In 2000, I began working in a community setting, which is where my heart lies in relation to caring for people. In 2004, I began the Trainee Assistant Practitioner Programme at the University of Bolton, which was my first academic programme of study.
Since this time, I have continued my academic learning to become a registered nurse and then in 2010 returned to the university to complete my District Nursing qualification (Community Specialist Practitioner BSc).
I am passionate about teaching and developing our students in their journey of lifelong learning. My specialist areas of Clinical Practice and research involve palliative care, chronic disease management, health promotion and implementation of sepsis pathways in community.
