Steven Barnes

Course Tutor (part-time) in Psychology

After graduating from a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology, I completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education for Post-Compulsory Education and Training, and achieved FHEA in 2018. My teaching career began in 2010, and I have lectured in psychology across the UK higher and further education sectors, including teaching research methods to BSc (Hons) Criminology & Sociology students, and the psychology of education to teaching assistants and early years practitioners. Currently, I lecture across the psychology undergraduate programme at the University of Bolton from foundation year to final year.

My research interest focuses primarily on cyberpsychological applications for mental health. My PhD explores the efficacy and viability of accessible virtual interventions for adolescent anxiety disorders, and the implications of user-feedback in their development for end-product acceptability and user-engagement.
