Zena Bleasdale

I am Registered Nurse with over twenty years clinical experience both within acute and community settings. Since qualifying in 1999, I have worked predominantly within in both Intensive Care and as a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse, with additional experience obtained from Medical and Cardiothoracic surgical wards, District Nursing and Practice based Education.

I have always enjoyed learning and developing my knowledge upon which to inform practice and have subsequently gained the following qualifications:

2002 Enhanced ENB100 Intensive Care Nursing
2004 Preparation for Mentorship
2008 Developing Research Skills
2011 Advanced Professional Development. Prepare Nurses to Prescribe from the Nurse Prescribers’ Formulary for Community Practitioners.

2013 BSc (Hons) Professional Studies in Health and Social Care
2019 Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Professional Practice.
Fellowship within the Higher Education Academy
Nursing and Midwifery Council Teacher Status

Following the completion of my teaching qualification, I decided to move into working within Higher Education. I commenced in post as a Lecturer within the School of Nursing, at The University of Bolton in August 2019, teaching on the Trainee Nursing Associate Programme.
