Should you study for a master’s in 2021? | Postgraduate study in Greater Manchester

Postgraduate study is the ideal path to personal and professional development that can gain you new skills, increase your earnings, and take you on a road to a successful career.

But is now the right time? With the Covid-19 pandemic and job security nearing an all-time low, you’d be forgiven for thinking now may not be the best time for a career shake-up. However, for many, this could be exactly the right time.

Maybe your sector is at risk from the pandemic, or your business has taken a particularly strong hit. Maybe your company is downsizing in response. There is no better time than now to shore up your future job prospects by embarking on a Postgraduate degree.

Master’s graduates have higher salaries
If your household budget is feeling the strain due to the pandemic, you could do a lot worse than studying towards a master’s. While you work at your current job you’ll be able to study for your master’s part-time, and upon graduation your job prospects will be vastly improved. Those with master’s degrees in the UK earn on average over £13,000 a year more than those with bachelor's degrees. If more money would be a benefit, a master’s degree is a great route to future success and a higher salary.

Is a master’s right for you?
A master’s degree will help you stand out from the crowd, change careers, or even get that promotion you’ve been working towards. If you’re unsatisfied with where you are right now, a master’s in whatever field you’re pursuing is an excellent way for your CV to be more appealing.

Studying for a master’s doesn’t just show skill. It highlights your dedication, excellent self-management, and passion for your chosen field.
