Career prospects for Media and Photography students

Careers within media

Completing a media-based degree can land you in many different industries, from advertising and marketing to radio and television, perhaps even digital media or PR consultancies. These industries all have their own little niches, but the majority require roles such as producer, director, screenwriter or camera technician.

Being a photographer comes with hundreds of different options as all businesses require a way to advertise and market themselves. Working freelance is an option which allows photographers to get a good variety of shots to build portfolio, but there are just as many opportunities in-house.
