We put our money where our mouth is

At the University of Bolton, we’re committed to our students, and ensuring they get the most out of their education, by maximising the industry experience during their studies.

Throughout the three years on our BA (Hons) Accountancy course, students will gain skills in fundamental planning and forecasting, budgeting and control, taxation and decision making. Not only this, but we regularly have senior industry experts coming to the University giving insightful guest lectures.

With all of these aspects of Accountancy at the University of Bolton, it’s little wonder that we are Gold partner status with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The Accountancy courses are well respected nationally and are ranked:

  • 2nd in the UK for Student Satisfaction by the Complete University Guide 2020
  • 2nd in the UK for Teaching Quality by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020
  • 2nd in the UK for Teaching Satisfaction by The Guardian University Guide 2020

But, if you don’t think the host of top league positions are enough to convince you, listen to one of our graduates, Rosena Javed: “I had a fantastic experience at the University of Bolton. The classes were the ideal size, and the excellent lecturers assisted me every step of my student life. The University has marvellous facilities and exceptional staff. The scope for growth and diversity is huge, and the future plans of the University are world-class.”

Each Accountancy graduate is entitled to exemptions from the Associations of International Accountants papers and is eligible to apply for associate membership to the AIA and Institute of Financial Accountants. However, many graduates continue their studies for a final year for the ACCA examinations in Bolton.

At the University of Bolton, we recognise that an Accountancy degree is more than just numbers; it’s about gaining insight into a variety of business aspects. Our graduates leave us with not only the skills and knowledge for a great career but the confidence to get started in Accountancy as soon as they walk across the graduation stage.
