The University of Bolton has made it easy for you by discussing the ‘ins and outs’ of our Motorsport and Automotive Engineers courses in one place.

Our £13 million purpose-built National Centre for Motorsport Engineering (NCME) is just one of the ways we prepare you so that upon graduation. Learn in facilities that provide you with the right knowledge and skills needed for your future career.

BEng (Hons) Automotive Performance Engineering

This course can be studied either full-time or part-time, with or without a foundation year, meaning no matter your personal situation, this course can give you the type of education and development you need.

On this course, you will design, test and review your ideas in order to maximise the potential of your engineering creations. Learning from top industry professionals is just one way you will be shown how to develop your ideas, but you will also receive the opportunity to work on live briefs which provide the hands-on experience needed to develop you skill set.

BSc (Hons) Motorsport Technology

This course can also be studied as full-time or part-time with the option of a foundation year. In such a competitive world, getting a small advantage could be the difference between finishing in first place and last, which is why on this course, you will learn how to achieve optimal performance and efficiency in race car design and set-up.

In our NCME facility, you will use our laboratories, workshops and classrooms before heading out to race tracks to put your knowledge and skills to the test. By the end of your degree, you will know what it takes to work in a professional race team.
