#Bolton19 | Graduate Goals

Graduate successes and prospects
One of the perks of going to university is the increased career opportunities available to graduates. Some companies only employ candidates with a degree, and many consider graduates to have an advantage over candidates without a degree. If you’re considering higher education, you are opening yourself up to a world of opportunities, such as your dream graduate job, promotions in your current career or a career change entirely.

As a University of Bolton student, known for student satisfaction and teaching quality, you could join our graduates in reaching their potential and achieving unique work placements, which set them apart from other graduates.

Our successful graduates
We pride ourselves on providing excellent career prospects for our students, and in recent years, our students have excelled beyond our expectations.

Just weeks after graduating in July 2018, Textile and Surface Design student Sharon Halladay began working for the prestigious Alexander McQueen fashion house. After being interviewed at Alexander McQueen HQ in London, she was contracted to work on a hand-painting project in Florence, Italy, for the brand. Sharon declared her thanks to the university and her lecturers, “I really enjoyed my time at the University of Bolton – it is so friendly, and I know it sounds corny, but you really do feel part of the family. The tutors are very supportive and have so many connections to industry, which has been invaluable. If I had not come to the University of Bolton, I would not have been able to have such a fantastic opportunity.”

Many of our graduates have returned to the university to give guest lectures, attend students’ shows, and some have even returned as permanent members of the teaching faculty. University of Bolton master’s graduate, Scott Warrington, now co-owns a multi-million-pound sport and leisure business, School Lettings Solutions. In April Scott delivered a presentation to current Sports Development and Coaching students, who are due to graduate this summer. Scott stressed the importance of education and hard work, “It is vitally important to me to demonstrate that building a business is not rocket science. I am living proof of that. I was not a natural when it came to studying, but I worked hard, and listened to and learned from good people.”
