University Of Bolton's Social Work Centre Officially Opened

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr Kondal Reddy Kandadi, officially opened the innovative new University of Bolton Social Work Centre.

The centre, in the Queens Specialist Building, aims to work closely with current services and offers support to the local communities in the Farnworth, Bolton, Radcliffe and Bury areas.

In this centre, student social workers are on a duty room rota, which enables the Centre to take referrals from other services, as well as self-referrals. The fracilities also offers collaborative research opportunities for evaluative research and/or exploratory interventions with social work and social care agencies.

The Social Work Centre has a vision to create links and working partnerships, which will strengthen and boost the range of support services available for the local communities to access. Ultimately this will have a positive impact on the lives of the people in Greater Manchester.
