University of Bolton staff remember together

Staff from the University of Bolton helped to mark the one year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing in which 22 people died. Participants included:

  • Dr Sue Duncan, Registrar of the University of Bolton;
  • Dr Colin Robertson, Senior Lecturer – Sports and Exercise Science;
  • Adam Naylor, Senior Lecturer, School of Sport and Biomedical Sciences, as well as;
  • Professor Jennifer Leeming, HM Senior Coroner Manchester West,

Each took part in the ‘Remember Together’ challenge. Dr Robertson and Mr Naylor took part in the 10k Great Manchester run – along with 25,000 other runners of all abilities. Anna Fitzpatrick, the university’s Director of Sports, offered physio treatment at the finishing line to the exhausted athletes. Dr Robertson’s son Seamus, aged 12, also joined in and even ran the last mile of the 10k race with his father.

Dr Robertson, who finished the race in 45 minutes, said: “It was a very emotional day and it was good to represent the university on such an important anniversary.”
