Carrie Warwick

Programme Leader - Games Design

After completing my degree in BA Games Art here at the University of Bolton, I started my career working for a small mobile games company based in Manchester. My first role in the industry allowed me to develop skills in a wide variety of different areas, such as concept art, 3D modelling, rigging and VFX.

After working on three titles, I then moved on to do focus testing and quality assurance testing, firstly for Rare, and then for Rockstar North. This was my big break into the AAA industry and I had the pleasure of working on Kinect Sports Rivals and the infamous Grand Theft Auto V.
Finishing at Rockstar, I came back to the North West to work for Traveller’s Tales, where I spent two and a half years in my role as Character Artist. This involved creating bespoke creatures and characters for numerous Lego titles including Lego Jurassic World, and Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

After spending time in industry, I returned to the University of Bolton as a lecturer in Games Art to bring my skills and knowledge to the course. I have recently become a senior lecturer and programme leader for the Games Design course. I maintain my passion for character art and continue to research the latest technology and techniques to ensure the students leave with the skills required to start their exciting careers.
