Cassie completed her PhD at the University of Bolton’s Psychology Department and is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Lecturer in EEG Personality Neuroscience at the University of Hamburg, working on a project that has won the Hamburg Open Science Award.
During her time as an undergraduate and postgraduate student at the university, she engaged actively with student representation including three presentations at the university’s TIRI conferences between 2015 and 2019. She was also the postgraduate student representative on the Psychology Department’s Industry Advisory Board where she raised the importance of student input in the design of a careers event which aimed to support students.
Prior to starting her PhD, Cassie completed a placement as a research assistant within the university, researching factors influencing students’ transition to university, academic success and retention. Her PhD research applied interactive methods to investigate social neural processing in children with autism, including the use of the EEG and FaceReader equipment in the Psychology department.
Cassie also taught on various undergraduate modules in the Psychology department during her PhD. Alongside her PhD research, she has conducted and published a study exploring predictors of student happiness and resilience.
