Julie Prescott, (PhD, MA, BSc (Hons), PGCertHE, CPsychol, FHEA, AFBPS) is a Reader in psychology and the Programme Lead for the undergraduate BSc (Hons) Psychology, Psychotherapy and Counselling (PPC) programme.
Julie is also programme lead for the MSc Counselling and Positive Psychology (Level 4 counselling accreditation). Julie is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Chartered Psychologist, Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and holds APA membership.
Julie has recently developed the PPC pathway with the dual accreditation of the BPS and the additional level 2 and level 3 certificates in counselling skills now awarded to the pathway by ABC awards. Julie teaches on a number of modules on the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees with a speciality in cyber-psychology and qualitative research methods.
Julie is an active researcher with over 60 peer-reviewed pieces of original work, with publications in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Julie’s current research area focuses on technology and health/mental health, with a particular interest in young people and online counselling as well as how people gain support and use online technologies for their health and mental health support.
