I have worked in UK higher education in various teaching roles since 1997. I completed an undergraduate degree in psychology (first class honours) in 1997 and a PhD on rape attributions in 2002, both at the University of Central Lancashire.
I am a Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I currently work as a Reader in Criminological and Forensic Psychology at the University of Bolton, where I am an ethics officer in the School of Education and Psychology and an active researcher.
I have an extensive research record spanning two decades. I currently have over 60 academic papers in print or in the press and have presented over 40 conference papers. I am a founding editor of the Journal of Aggression, Conflict and Peace Research, on the editorial board of the Journal of Sexual Aggression and a regular reviewer for several other journals.
