Nick Wadsworth

Lecturer - Sport Psychology

I studied a BSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University and later went onto complete an MSc in Sport Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University. Whilst at Liverpool John Moores, I began working at Everton F.C. and then received a job as 'Head of Sport Psychology' at West Bromwich Albion F.C. As 'Lecturer of Sport Psychology' at the University of Bolton, I teach on all Sport Psychology modules across multiple programmes, utilising my applied experience to create an engaging learning environment. Alongside my lecturing position, I work with professional athletes through the Athletic Development Centre (ADC), as well as engaging in consultancy work outside of the University at Premiership football club. I have just completed a Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology, which will allow me to achieve accreditation as a Sport Psychologist. All of my research to date focuses on bridging the gap between theory and practice. I am particularly interested in the environment and culture of professional sport and how this impacts on the performance and wellbeing of professional athletes.
