Nurun Nahar

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and currently involved in teaching and managing a range of modules across the Business and Accountancy undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.I am the Deputy Programme Lead for the BSc (Hons) Business Management with Foundation programme.

My professional experiences include design, development and validation of degree (including apprenticeship) programmes at HE levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 in close collaboration with subject experts,academic institutions and professional bodies. I also oversee the quality processes in my role as a link tutor in the successful delivery of specific programmes in two of our partner institutions home and overseas in liaison with the University of Bolton.

My main research interests include precarious employment and psychological wellbeing; student term time work, academic performance and wellbeing; active student engagement; technology enabled learning environment; students as partners in teaching and learning. I have presented at national and international conferences including at a TEDx event and published in peer-reviewed journals on these areas.

I am currently pursuing a part-time PhD by Thesis on the topic of workplace well-being explicitly looking at effects of temporary and non-standard employment contracts on workers’ psychological wellbeing. My educational background consists of a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Glyndwr University and a HE7 continuous professional development qualification in teaching and learning in higher education. I am also a part-qualified accountant and working towards my full professional ACCA qualification.
