Sadia Iqbal

Technician & Demonstrator

After completion of my BSc (Hons) Biomedical science degree, I worked as a Biomedical scientist for the National Blood Service and in hospital Haematology and Blood transfusion labs. I followed this up by gaining a Professional Graduate Diploma in secondary education.

I joined the University of Bolton as a technician and demonstrator in the Health and Science department at the start of 2017. I am mainly based in the Clinical simulation suites within Bolton One. I support academic staff to educate health professionals using many forms of simulation (using simulation models, service users, the Antaomage table, etc.). This allows students to enhance their clinical skills and practice them in a safe environment. I ensure the suites are maintained and set up for the best student experience.

Whilst working at the University of Bolton I have learnt many of the skills taught on the Clinical examination skills module, which I now use to support many of our students on the module and the PAs students, to gain understanding and confidants in carrying out these skills. I found that this has allowed me to grown and branch out further in my role.
