Zaman Kala

Lecturer

Zaman is a lecturer with varied teaching responsibilities in the law of contract, the law of tort, sports law, legal skills and mooting.

He graduated with an LLB from the University of Central Lancashire in 2009, before going on to complete his LLM at the same institution in 2012. During this period, Zaman had teaching responsibilities at the University of Central Lancashire and then Edge Hill University, where he taught legal obligations, public law and European Union law.

After graduating with an LLM, Zaman went on to work as a fee earner for a leading firm of solicitors, with notable clients including the NHS Litigation Authority. His role covered many aspects of defence work with a key specialisation in negotiating savings to legal costs, conducting Part 8 litigation (where required), and advising on legal spend management. As such, he has experience of working in various fields, such as road traffic accidents, employer/public liability, medical negligence and product liability.

Zaman is also a doctoral candidate, having commenced PhD study in 2016.
