Michael Reeve

Games Design | 2018

"A recent games event changed my perspective and ideas on what I want to do and be within the industry. I feel that my skills and overall outlook have improved significantly as a result. It's been one of the highlights of my time at university so far.

Being given the chance to speak to, and network with a variety of industry professionals as well as other students helped me understand and clarify what I should be. Their experience and outlook has not only got me to figure out my next few steps, but gave me potential contacts as well. I feel a lot more prepared for what comes after uni, more so than ever before."

Shariqua Wahid

Designer and QA at d3t | 2016

"Having previously studied a Games Design degree at the University of Bolton, I was honoured to return to give a talk to the Games Development students. The industry-experienced lecturers make the University of Bolton the perfect place to study where they can teach students the skills they themselves have gained from working in professional games studios. The university also has a new Games Development building with a dedicated VR room, Cintiq rooms as well as each room being kitted out with top spec PCs. I would highly recommend the Games courses as many graduates are now hired in studios in the UK and internationally."

"I was blown away by the quality of resources available to the students and I know quite a few professional teams would love to have a studio this accommodating. It's evidence of the department's dedication to building a professional learning environment using their valuable experience of the working environment ahead. My visit was a great chance to give something back to a welcoming crowd of minds and a reminder of how far the industry has come since my University years. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to collaborating with everyone again. I wish you all the best with the future."

"The new facilities at the University of Bolton are exceptional, and aspiring game developers should seriously consider the university as their number one choice. The hands-on approach by the extremely experienced lecturers allows for an engaging learning experience, and it is clear to see why so many of their graduates are already employed in the industry."
