Dr Ikpenmosa Uhumuavbi

Lecturer in Law

Dr Ikpenmosa Uhumuavbi (Ike) has diverse legal background with more than ten years experience supporting and advising on a variety of business, teaching, and strategic planningfunctions to include subrogation, litigation and high level negotiations of commercial transactions and contracts. Aside from his experience as a Barrister and Solicitor in Nigeria, Ike has held various academic positions in the United Kingdom's Higher EducationSector since 2008.

He is currently an Associate Lecturer in the School of Law where he shares and improves knowledge in Corporate Governance, Financial and Economic Crime, Corporate Law and Legal Skills. Ike has built productive relationships with team membersto implement curriculum and interface in the area of Undergraduate, Masters and PhD supervision.

In terms of education and credentials, he has several advanced degrees and certifications. Ike holds a PhD in International Finance and Investment Securities Law and a Mastersin Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bolton, United Kingdom. He also holds an LLM in Corporate and Securities Law from the University of London, Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary and Westfield College in the United Kingdom. Inaddition, Ike obtained his LLB from Edo State University in Nigeria.

To enable his practice, he has several postgraduate/professional certifications. Ike holds a PGCE - Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (In-Service) from the Universityof Huddersfield and a Certificate of ICT proficiency (ECDL) from the British Computer Society in the United Kingdom. He also holds a BL- Certificate of Call as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Ike is currently a Claude W. Pettit scholar on the United States Government funded LLM in Democratic Governance and Rule of Law, and Certificate in US Legal Pedagogy at the Ohio Northern University, Ohio, United States.
