University of Bolton, Deane Road, Bolton. BL3 5AB
Clearing is how Universities and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses. So, if you don't have a University place, or maybe you've changed your mind, you can use Clearing as an opportunity to find and apply for courses that still have places.
Clearing opens on 5 July 2021 and runs until 19 October 2021, you can apply through clearing if you’re:
· Applying after 5 July
· Didn’t receive any offers (or none you wanted to accept)
· Didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
· You’ve declined your firm place using the ‘decline my place’ button in UCAS Track
If you don't have your results you can pre-register for clearing here.
As soon as you have your exam results you can contact our friendly team of advisers to discuss your options.
You will need your:
· UCAS ID
· Qualification details (including GCSEs)
· Personal contact details
If you are offered a provisional place, you will still need to make a formal application to the University.
From 10 August you will be able to submit a direct application to the University provided you haven't made any applications through UCAS for the academic year 2021/22. If you're unsure of how to complete your application, or which method you need to follow please get in touch or take a look at the FAQs we have put together. Please only submit an application after being advised to do so from the Clearing team.
New for 2021 from UCAS is their Clearing Plus service. They will personally match you to courses that you may be interested in, using information from your application form and information from Universities and colleges about what they are looking for in a student.
Have a look on the UCAS website for more information about this new service.
If you need help with your application, or if you don't have access to a computer then please call 01204 903807 or email Clearing@bolton.ac.uk and we'll be more than happy to help.
Your provisional place is only valid as long as the course isn't full, and until you apply we can't secure your place.
We will send you instructions on how to apply once we have confirmed your provisional place. It's important that you follow these instructions.
If you have made any applications this year through UCAS you will need to refer your application through UCAS Track. If you need any help doing this, give us a call on 01204 903807 and we will see if we can help. Sometimes you might need to contact UCAS directly, but we can advise you on what is the best course of action.
We understand the importance of being able to visit a University and get a 'feel' for the place before your studies start. We are happy to announce that we can offer an on-campus experience as part of our open events in August and September. You will be able to join in presentations, chat to staff and take a tour of the campus to see where you could be studying in September for yourself. Advice and guidance on funding, scholarships and accommodation will also be available.
To take part, you will need to book your place which will automatically book you onto the subject presentation for your chosen course.
The dates we have available are:
· Thursday 3 September (2pm until 6pm)
· Friday 14 August (10am until 4pm)
· Saturday 15 August (10am until 4pm)
As well as our open events, you can always use our Live Chat on the website or talk to our friendly staff and students on our online chat system.
