The BA (Hons) Animation & Illustration programme were delighted to welcome Nica Harrison as their artist in residence in Semester Two, 2019.
Students were fortunate to have animator/printmaker Nica Harrison joining us for a one-month residency, whilst she continued work on her upcoming animated short film. The animation is produced by Animate Projects UK, supported by the British Film Institute and Arts Council England.
From more information on Nica's work please visit: nicaharrison.com
Students from all year groups benefited from several workshops and talks delivered by Nica throughout the Neo Artists and Bolton School of Arts Micro Residency.
This is a fabulous opportunity for students to work alongside a professional from the creative industries.
Nica offered excellent insight into both the business and practice of the animation industry. Nica has now returned to London to work on her film 'Chado' which is due for release in 2020, whilst continuing to work on additional projects as a freelance animator.
We were very pleased to have had on loan many frames from Chado which were exhibited alongside the work of our graduating students at this year's Creative Show. We wish Nica every success for her new film!
