The Interdisciplinary Project brief involved the development of a new Compact Wylfa Nuclear Plant (CWNP).
Both Civil Engineering and Construction Management students split into seven teams to look at this complex project. The groups were required to undertake a number of presentations and provide posters. Issues related to the whole range of civil engineering and construction management were undertaken and each student in the team selected a specific topic area to develop.
Keynote speakers from the industry were invited to facilitate and develop students knowledge. Tutors across the programme areas facilitated in problem-based learning throughout the duration of the module.
Final presentation by student teams was made to a panel consisting of the module Leader Henry Oti and a number of tutors and guests from the industry who assessed each team’s performance.
The student work will be displayed in the NCMI building as part of the School of Engineering end of year show on Friday 21st June and on the Open Day on Saturday 22nd June.
